Weave Chat AAC
Weave Chat AAC is a free, robust, category-based AAC app that can be used on phones and tablets. It can be downloaded and used for free on iOS, Android, & Kindle products.
Weave Chat AAC is free and always will be because we firmly believe that everyone should be able to communicate.
All features are customized in settings
The Settings section is where all customization features are accessed. Customization is separated by into 8 areas for easy navigation.
The app is highly customizable.
Users can choose from 12 different grid board setups in addition to the default scrolling board; select button and border size; choose light or dark mode; add specific topic vocabulary; set how each type of button reacts including the backspace and clear all buttons; add your own custom words and categories; and record up to 30 seconds of audio to a button.
Community Involvement
Weave Chat AAC was created and continues to be maintained by an SLP (speech language pathologist) and an engineer. Community involvement by AAC users and professionals in the field has been integral to the initial creation of and continued success of the app.
Translators
Translation for all languages available in the app is possible due to our amazing translators! All translators are volunteers and have dedicated countless hours to making this app available around the world in a variety of languages.
Currently, Weave Chat AAC is only available in English. Castilian Spanish, Macedonian, and Vietnamese are fully translated; Spanish will be available in early 2025 and then the other two languages shortly thereafter. As new languages are fully translated, they will be added to the app.

Weave Chat AAC is a free app that is mainly supported by the creators. Both creators have full-time jobs and work on Weave Chat AAC during the evenings and on the weekends.
Right now it costs about $5000 a year to upkeep the app. If you would like to help support this cost, we would be much appreciative.
